This is the only powder I use for the .357 Magnum. 2400 was probably the first powder made especially for magnum loads; for my money, it’s still the best choice.

This is one of my 2 standard powders.
Alliant 2400 is excellent in Magnum handguns and my .44 Magnum chambered lever action. This powder produces more consistent loads in my volumetric measurement system when compared to many flake powders.

THE powder for magnum pistols in .357 and larger. For the T/C Contender, its makes a perfect .30-30 Win medium load with hard cast lead for close-in pig hunting and small varmints. The old T/C load book always had several recipes for 2400 which were intended for hunting.

I use Alliant 2400 in Magnum pistol and 45 colt cartridge rifle loads, in strong actions such as the 1892 Winchester. It meters very well, burns clean and produces very consistently accurate cartridges. It is not recommended for light loads. but can be loaded up to very powerful levels and still maintain sharp accuracy.
